Hi @sn2019, welcome to the community.
Personally I find starting the exercise/GPS tracking manually is the best/most reliable experience. GPS can be used to capture data including route, distance, and pace in your exercise history.
To answer your question you won't be able to see your route on the watch, but once you sync your device to your phone you will be able to see the workout on there (including a map of your route).
Best AnswerThanks. I don't expect the Iconic displays a current as I exercise, I was just cruious if it will start collect location information when it detects I started an exercise (walk/run). I am using an Inspire HR at this time, it collects location info when I start track an exercise manually but it doesn't collect location info if it auto-detect an exercise has started. I guess the Iconic behaves the same.
Best AnswerI believe there is an option in the settings called "run detect", from what I can understand it should do what you are describing. "Track runs automatically without opening the
Exercise app (known as Run Detect)." (from the user manual). Unfortunately I haven't got any personal experience with the option, but as the name states I would only expect it to work with runs.
