Good morning Fitbit Ionic users! Thanks for flagging the syncing issue with Ionic. Our engineering team became aware of an issue that affects syncing for some Ionic users. We are making progress on a retroactive fix for this and look forward to resolving this as soon as possible.
If you'd rather not wait for the system updates, you can use the following workaround:
For those of you who don't have time to try the workaround, rest assured that our team will fix this issue.
Don't let this bump in the road get in the way of reaching your health goals for the day! I will keep this thread updated with the latest.
Appreciate your patience, everyone!

i think we were a little bit eager. I am certainly not used to bugs that come with new release products but now I am in I cannot let this go so maybe a bumpy ride for a month or two but I am certain they will iron out the kinks as and when us users report them.
my blaze was quite new when I got it but it was a few months after release and I never had any real problems with it in the year that I had it, couple of software glitches which were fixed within 24 hours both times.
I hope those of you sending them back don't give up forever I have a really good feeling about this watch and the potential of it. I am especially interested to see what happens with the blood oxygen sensors that are installed but not monitoring at the moment.

Restarting my phone usually helps - but this can't be a constant solution!

Hi Carlos, I am running Android 7.1.1 on a OnePlus Five phone. I have the developer firmware version 27.30.2.8
If i delete the device from the fitbit app, and then re-pair and re-add the device, it will sync exactly ONCE.
If I pull down to sync, or go into the device page and hit the sync button, nothing happens and it will not sync. The latest sync time will not update. The number of steps shown in the app seems to be accurate, but nothing else will update. No sleep data, no active minutes, etc.
From the dashboard page in the app, the device is shown in the upper right hand corner, but the indicator above the battery meter is greyed out. I have "All-Day Sync" and "Always Connected" both set to on.

I have the same issue. My Ionic doesn't sync anymore at all since the last firmware update.

I am lost stopped getting text notifications suddenly. Weather app works about 50% of the time. Cannot have Fitbit app on Lenovo yoga 900 windows 10 computer transfer any music. The pc can see the ionic but can never transfer music. My iPhone says the ionic version is 30.2.8 which is more than the 27 version you mentioned.
Any idea about that? Am I looking at the wrong thing? I attempted to update my tracker but since I appear to be 3 versions ahead it don't do it.
I also tried to create the hello world app and it was a huge failure. I'm in software and I get it but really need Fitbit to provide regular updates to the customer base. Something.

On my ionic it says version 27.30.2.8. Different than what it says on iPhone app. Tried all of the troubleshooting steps and the ionic won't sync.
Really at a loss and disappointed.

You have the developer firmware app which is automatically offered as the firmware update when you sign up to register as a developer. I have it, and it works pretty much the same as the current version, with only the developer bridge being available.
I don't have any current issues though.

Pandora stations will not sync. The blue bar in the media tile(via app) seems to indicate pandora media is on Ionic, but watch app only says “no station yet”, after hours of Force sync attempts, and restarting the watch, app, amanda WiFi connections. Watch has icon that denotes a download happening, but tapping on pandora watch app only gives me “no stations yet”. I am plugged into charger.

I did all that and it worked for a short time but then stopped again. What DID work, however, was turning OFF the "all day sync"..... Now it seems to be working/syncing normally....

Hi, Any idea when the bug fix will be released? My Ionic hasn't synced without it being deleted as then reinstalled onto my phone app yet. It's irritating that I'm not getting updates and messages and that I have to navigate the go around just to sync my steps.
After spending a great deal of money on this item I am left with a glorified watch that does nothing more than tell the time. I feel a little cheated right now 😓

I got my fitbit yesterday and updated out of the box to 27.25.16.7.
An hour into using it, it stopped syncing and I had to remove the watch from the app and add it again. 24 hours later (today) it stopped syncing and this time I rebooted the watch and restarted my phone again. After several attempts it finally synced again.
I really hope this gets resolved, I hope I don't have to be doing this every day.

I just got my ionic, super excited. I am unable to sync to get started. My phone won't recognize the Bluetooth. I have a samsung galaxy express prime. Syncs with my blaze perfectly.

Download the app "fit notifications" from the app store. Go through the setup. After you may need to reboot your Ionic or restart Bluetooth.
Send a test notification and after it should work.
This is a workaround I am able to use until fitbit provides a fix.

FYIO, My Ionic works fine now (circa 24 hours at least). I have not tried all functions, such as Pandora, but text and email notifications work fine (to get email notifications, I had to DISABLE email notifications, and then go into APP NOTIFICATIONS, and select GMAIL). I am able to change clockfaces
Ionic with 27.25.16.7
Phone is Google Pixel, running Android 8.0.0
All Day Sync is enabled.
Always Connected is enabled
Notification widget is disabled
Require encryption is disabled
Have not turned on a PIN.
On my phone, my Ionic is set to be a trusted device
No idea if any of these settings are critical (probably not).

I thought I was having an issue with the Ionic nit syncing but realized that the problem is really with mu iPhone 8 and it keeps turning off my Bluetooth. As soon as I manually turn the phone Bluetooth back on it connects and syncs without an issue.
