Random Ionic Shutdowns

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Hi there,

I‘m experiencing random shutdowns on my new Ionic. Whether sleeping, working out, or just wearing it, the tracker will shutdown completely.

Anyone else experiencing this?

I have noticed that a few people have reported this.

First, please make sure your Ionic is fully up to date.  The current version is 26.31.1.29. You can check yours by scrolling to "Settings --> About" on your Ionic.  If you do not have the current version, your app should indicate that there is an update available.

Next I would recommend giving your Ionic a restart.  Do this 3 times, as a single restart does not always work.

If you still are having the issue the next step would be a factory reset.  Again, go to Settings --> About on your Ionic and choose "Factory reset".  Be sure you have synced first, as this will erase all data.  You will need to re-set up your Ionic after performing a factory reset.

Hopefully this will solve your problem.  I believe that it has helped others with a similar issue.

Hi,

The 3x restart made the shut downs worse! I’m setting to factory now, but
if this doesn’t work what is the next step in replacement? I’m training
for a race in June and need the metrics. Very disappointed that this keeps
shutting down while training...

Hi Julia,

I’m now dead in the water. Multiple attempts to sync to my phone have failed. Tried restarting and turning off/on Bluetooth.

Same problem with my ionic. Just shuts down and does nothing anymore - no screen, no lights on the underside, dead. It comes back to "life" when the battery is empty, then the red battery sign shows, and it can be recharged and works for some hours. Then, shutdown again. Really frustrating, and very disappointing for an otherwise nice device.

Any remedies for this??

You will need to open a ticket. Sounds like you got a lemon too. They
replaced mine for free 🙂 and are able to do device tracking for logs.
