Kind of a long post. Started with my Ionic not keeping time, would lose time over the period of a few hours. I noticed that my Fitbit was not syncing. So did a restart (left button and bottom right for 10 seconds). Nothing. Turned off and on the Bluetooth on my Note 8. Nothing. Restart and turned off and on Bluetooth. Uninstalled and reinstalled Fitbit app. Nothing. Did a factory reset. Multiple times, Takes forever and sometime the wifi works, sometimes not, but always within a couple of minutes, it would not sync. Last time I did reset the screen just went to the Fitbit logo coming on for 5 secs and off for 2 secs. Can not get it to restart or anything. Please help.

Have just experienced exactly the same set of events and end result (Ionic sits there blinking at me as though mocking).
What was the outcome from Customer Support? I have emailed them (4 days ago) but they have not got back to me yet.

Had to do a hard reset (press and hold all buttons on the device. Wait until fitfit logo disappears, then release bottom right button. Wait until you feel a vibration, then release other buttons). Mine kept losing time after that so had to get into chat with support and took 2 times of it failing before they sent me a new pebble.

@Stevet99I had the same issue last month when my Ionic bricked after the last update. I contacted @fitbitsupport on twitter and had responses within hours. If you have a twitter account, you may try that to start. In the end, I ended up having to send a video of me doing the three button reset to prove that the Ionic was in the unrecoverable boot loop. They sent me a replacement a week later. Good luck and keep us posted.

Just received confirmation new Ionic is on the way. As suggested, contacted fitbit support on twitter (man I wish they read posted messages and did not follow their script) but after repeating myself a few times, case opened and one more time round the story and another copy of the video posted and all sorted.
Thanks everyone for the advice.

Sadly after many resets & factory resets I had to mail it in for repairs.
Sent it in over a week ago and have no information. Not a happy customer
right now.
Good luck.

update... after a month I called them and asked what was happening. The usps tracking showed they received my fitbit bit I hadn’t received any communication or a new watch. They couldn’t track down the one I sent but did mail me a new one.

I had the same problem. It happened when I was updating my ionic and I accidentially closed the app on my phone. It froze so I got online and learned to do the quick restart and then the factory reset. After the factory reset the ionic started flashing the fitbit log continually. I called customer service and they had me do a bunch of turning Bluetooth on and off and finally after 30 minutes on the phone with them they finally said they would send me a new one.

I was fortunate enough that FitBit replaced my Ionic and I’ve not had any
problems since. See if it’s still under warranty. They were very fast. UPDATE!!!!!! Dead piece of junk that won’t charge despite all instructions and options for better charging and resetting.

Yeah, they are telling me that I'm out of warranty too. Offered a discount towards a new one. Sucks. I really need GPS and to stay in the fitbit family due to a program at work. Otherwise I'd look elsewhere. Anyone figure out a way to get out of the boot loop??

My Ionic Adidas edition just started this same behavior. Unresponsive to screen and all button combinations/reset sequences. This is actually my 3rd ionic. First died after about 6 months, replaced under warranty, but only lasted about 8 months. Fitbit only warranties from first purchase date, so they gave me a discount and I got the Adidas version. That has gone a remarkable 14 months, until meeting the same end. I was really hoping having to buy a premium fitness device wouldn't become an annual purchase, especially after Google got involved. It had switched to the SpO2 clock face several weeks ago and upgraded to firmware 27.72.1.9. Hoping someone found a good trick. (Maybe let the battery run all the way down and plug it back in?) Otherwise I'm just going to be disappointed that I allowed my self to get suckered into another device without a physical reset option.

I guess I just had to vent a little bit. I tried leaving it unplugged for a couple more hours and it came back to life. I suppose that means the clock is ticking.
