Screen Wake on all Notifications

"flicking" the wrist works poorly with the Ionic.. It rarely turns on the screen when i want it to. Almost always have to press the button to turn it on. (way more than I want to)

What worked very well on the last fitness band i had (Microsoft band 2) was that the screen would wake on all notifications.

I've other post regarding having the screen on all the time, and the wrist "flicking" being acceptable to turn the screen on...

I think not. The screen should turn on with all notifications! The main reason i bought the Ionic was for the notifications. It means i don't have to dig my phone out of my pocket with every chirp. I can see if it's worth grabbing the phone right from my wrist... It would be best if it didn't require two hands for that process too.

Hey there @krissrock. it's great to have you here! Robot Very Happy To enable the Quick View on your Ionic, swipe right to the shortcuts screen > Screen WakeWoman Very Happy This should work whenever you get notifications.

However, if this feature seems not to be working properly I'd recommend restarting your Ionic by following these steps.

Give it a go and let me know if that helps!

I would like this too. Every smart watch I've owned has had the ability to wake the screen when a notification is received. I agree that flicking the wrist works most of the time but sometimes it doesn't. Screen should wake as soon as a message is received wether the wrist is flicked or not.

Thanks for stopping by @ijob007! The screen will turn on whenever you turn your wrist towards you even when getting notifications. If this little movement doesn't wake up your screen, try restarting your tracker by following this steps:

  1. Press and hold the back (left) and bottom buttons until you see the Fitbit logo on the screen. This should take less than 10 seconds.
  2. Let go of the buttons.
  3. If your Fitbit Ionic doesn't work normally, on Ionic, open the Settings app About > Shutdown > confirm the shutdown. Then, to turn your watch back on, press any button.

However, I understand you'd like your tracker to wake up when getting notifications without turning the wrist towards you. Agree with you...

Pebble had this feature.

But before that, the ionic should get all notifications (i use an android phone), cause there are lot of them that are lost (on pebble all notifications were displayed).

I am personnally unsatisfied of the fitbit.

I hope they will put a kick in the a*s of their developpers' team, cause we are far away of what we should have for the current price of this watch...

does it matter that the link you gave is in reference to a different model Fitbit (not the Ionic) ?

I had same issue of screen not coming on with flick of wrist and having to press the button. Thanks to looking on here I saw reply about screen wake and checking it wasn’t on manual, but auto. I checked and sure enough it was on manual setting, so changed it to auto.😊. I did not this until now, thanks
