Senses heart rate when ionic is left alone!

I have been using my ionic for about two months now. However occasionally it tracks fluctuating heart rate even when I take it off and leave it there on it’s own,not even touching it. Pls help.

I found that mine would record phantom heartbeats when placed face down with a gap to the table when it could see the reflection of the HR LED light. I think the unit has a proximity sensor that turns on the LED and when it sees a reflection it begins to record it as heartbeats. My solution is to place it down on its side and to be sure there is nothing within about an inch from the sensor. Hope this works for you.
