I am new to the Fitbit community and just received a Fitbit Ionic for my birthday yesterday. I downloaded the Fitbit app, followed the instructions to set up via Bluetooth, as for some odd reason my phone or perhaps Fitbit app did not accept my Wi-Fi password. After some time I kept getting checkmarks telling my fitbit item was synced to my phone, entered a code, etc however when all done the face of the item continues to have the fitbit icon telling me to visit fitbit.com/setup.
Now when I open the fitbit app it tells me my item has been synced 3 mins ago and Firmware Version 27.20.16.23 is this correct? and the face of the fitbit item continues to tell me to visit fitbit.com/setupIs the Fitbit Ionic compatible with Samsung s8?? Someone please help me....thanks!!

Thank you for your response and information. Unfortunately, none of the troubleshooting tactics worked. I even went as far as uninstalling fitbit app on both my phone and laptop, re-install and going through the setup process again to no avail.
