Hey Everyone,
1) I'm a Pebble watch fan. I've loved them for simple notifications, long battery life, comfort, and RELIABILITY.
2) Pebble support is going away, so I'm looking a new watch.
3) The Ionic is my #1 choice based on independent GPS, long battery life, and comfort.
4) BUT....... I see TONS of reliability concerns on this forum, in Amazon reviews, and other online videos/written reviews.
5) So.... is it just a vocal minority making the watch seem unreliable or should I wait until Fitbit makes a more reliable watch? {My Pebbles were short on bells & whistles, but I could count on them.}
Thanks in advance :),
Rob

Thanks for your reply. You think Versa has any better chance at reliability?

I would steer clear of Fitbit tbh. Try Garmin

Don’t do it! The watch has been nothing but a disaster for me! You can’t even download music from your mobile devices! You must have a desktop or laptop to download music or PURCHASE a Pandora subscription which is currently unable to download due to some issue Fitbit engineers are “working to resolve” but have NO IDEA when that will happen!
Fitbit is still in the 20th century and way beyond the curve of other watches of this type.

I have the same issue. I’m a past Pebble fan. I started having Pebble problems that couldn’t get resolved because Pebble support stopped.
When I read that Fitbit bought Pebble I started researching watch faces available on Fitbit. When I was satisfied I purchased a Fitbit. So far I’m disillusioned. I added Yweather, a Pebble weather app, to my Fitbit. It doesn’t work right. The fitness data updates regularly by weather won’t. Beaded Yweather is supposed to adjust the time format to where the gps indicates where you are. I live in USA where time format is 12 hour am/pm. It’s disconcerting when in the afternoon it displays 17:40.
I’ve also tried other weather clock faces and the weather won’t update.
Fitbit should require the weather app developers have apps that work
So far I find the Fitbit Ionic a waste of $300!

No. I’m on the second Ionic in three years and it’s about to die. Do not buy a Fitbit... at all.

I love my Ionic but I’m now on my fourth in five years and it’s just stopped working. Always a different fault. This time the dim function and the screen wake functions do not work.
to be honest I’m now considering Apple!!

Just tried updating and it's locked and cant get it to work. My wife's died 1 year later getting it. It went dark after an update. Never had problems with previous Fitbits. Would never suggest an Ionic.

My Ionic is 22 days old today and already having problems: screen reading-Not charging, not enough power detected from this source, doesn't measure my sleep, and the finish on the buckle (I got the rose color) is already wearing off - remember 22 days since it was put on my arm. I spoke with support and I had to restore it at just one week. NEVER again will I buy a Fitbit, I make this promise to myself-will bit the bullet and pay whatever Apple or Garmin wants. Have gone through 2 Blazes (I think that was the name-bad band issues), Charge 3 didn't last a year as it would never update and now sits in the dead watch box. The new Ionic is 22 days old and already having issues...buy some other brand as FitBit is not a good choice.
