Sleep Stage and Sleep Patten

Hey all, I'm new to the Fitbit world and just got my first Ionic. The first night I wore it to bed to see it does sleep stages, bit excited about that too then have last night to see it recorded as a sleep pattern not stage. How do I change it to be a sleep stage or has there been a fault somewhere???

Hi @Travietrav,

Welcome!

There's not a setting to turn on sleep stages. The tracker just needs to have a consistent heart rate reading throughout the night.

If you click on the tracking for that particular night, does the app give you a message? Sometimes it will tell you what the problem was with the tracking that night.

I think I know what happened. On the 2nd night, I went into my iPhone and told the Fitbit I was going to sleep because last night (the 3rd night I have now had it on) it also recorded it as a sleep stage, same as what happened on the 1st night. It detected I was asleep.

Does that make sense?

Yes, it does.  According to Fitbit, that is one of the things that will prevent sleep stages.

"If you used the Begin Sleep Now option in the Fitbit app (instead of simply wearing your device to bed)."
