Sleep insights

I just got my Fitbit iconic yesterday so wore it at night time to get my sleep insights. It worked but only gave me a general outview! It didn't give me the details of my sleep including deep sleep, REM, light sleep. It only showed me a general chart.

How do I get a detailed chart?

Thanks in advance!

Welcome to fitbit!

Your tracker will always try to give you the detailed sleep analysis but sometimes it can't. Fitbit say:

"There are a few scenarios where you might see your sleep pattern (which shows your time asleep, restless, and awake) instead of sleep stages:

  • If you slept in a position that prevented your device from getting a consistent heart-rate reading or wore it too loosely. For best results, wear your device higher on your wrist (about 2-3 finger widths above your wrist bone). The band should feel secure but not too tight.
  • If you used the Begin Sleep Now option in the Fitbit app (instead of simply wearing your device to bed). For more information on automatic sleep tracking, see How do I track my sleep?
  • If you slept for less than 3 hours.
  • If your device’s battery is critically low.

For more information about why you see your sleep pattern, tap or click the sleep record that shows your sleep pattern."

Good morning Ionic users,

I am having the same issues when it comes to track the sleep stages.

I used to have a Charge 2 for almost 2 years and I never had these issues. Now it is already 6 days since I started using the Ionic and the device has not recorded sleep stages in any of the nights.

Which could be a solution?  I have the app up-to-date and the firmware of the smartwatch too.

Thanks!

I’ve had the same problem off and on since November 2017. Fitbit have given me many things to do to correct the problem but it just returns in a few days. I just contacted them a few day ago and now they say it’s not the tracker but the fluctuation of my heart rate as I sleep. I can’t believe that because when I first received it it worked just fine for about  2      weeks.

The reality is that presently there is nothing more they can do. So I’m hoping for an update soon as this issue is not isolated only to me.
