Hi.

I just bought a new iconic.

For or two nights it was accurate.

For the next two nights it was totally off

Went to bed at 1130. Iconic started count sleep from 2 am.

Last night went to bed at 12 iconic started counting at 230.

Any thoughts

On the site is (somewhere) a lit of reasons why it can go wrong.

One of the reasons was the watch was to loose around the wrist en another was how you are lying in bed.

Just search for it and check them.

Just adding on to what @elot mentioned, usually the Sleep Stages issue happens when any of the following occur:

1.) Don't get at least 3 hours of continuous sleep (which I don't believe was your issue)

2.) Sleep in a position that prevents the heart rate monitor from getting a consistent reading

3.) Use the "Start Sleep Now" function in the app (this is only for non wrist-worn trackers)

4.) The battery is critically low

Now that we know some of the causes, we can now start to go through some of the troubleshooting.  I would start by performing a restart.  To do this, all you need to do is hold down the bottom right and left buttons for about 10 seconds.  You will feel a slight vibration and see the Fitbit logo appear, signaling the successful restart.  Restarts can help solve many bugs in a tracker.

Next, check the battery level by swiping right on your Ionic screen.  This will take you to the "Settings" for your watch.  In the upper right hand corner, you will see your battery level.  If it is low (usually between 30% and 50% battery left) it may be a good idea to charge it.

When the battery is charged, try loosening or tightening your band tonight before bed.  You may have to play around with the position of the watch (i.e moving it up and down your arm a little) to get a more accurate heart rate.  If the watch gets caught on a bone or something while you sleep, it may not give you Sleep Stages, as it may not be able to get a consistent heart rate reading.

If you are using the "Start Sleep Now" function in the app, that is the reason you are not getting Sleep Stages, so I would stop using it and just go to sleep.

Hope this helps!
