SmartTrack doesn't activate GPS?-Ionic

Hello,

in the configuration for SmartTrack for all my activities there is the not "GPS will not be activated". This sounds like there could be an option, that GPS could also activated for a SmartTrack activity.

But I can't find a possibility to activate GPS tracking for SmartTrack activities.

Is somebody able to help?

Sorry, but there is no option to have GPS used with SmartTrack.

I understand your comment re that note but the following help file also says: "Note that GPS data is not included in SmartTrack exercise detection" (from: https://help.fitbit.com/articles/en_US/Help_article/1933/ )

Thinking about it, if GPS were to automatically turn itself on with SmartTrack then people might get upset when their battery runs out unexpectedly.

In general I think that's true with for example walking. I think you wouldn't have a run for more than 15 minutes by an oversight - so GPS recording should work with that also with SmartTrack.

And if it would be possible to switch this option on and off - you could avoid accidentially GPS recording...

That's why you'd make it configurable. Off by default, on by choice in settings.
