Since their still is no spotify app available.
I ripped some old cd's and put the mp3 on my ionic.
So when i want to run I can listen to it.
now I have the problem that sometimes the music stops, at least the sound.
so I press the right upper button, to go to the music app, and I see the music is still playing.
I can press next song, the next song starts playing, still no sound.
the app says the output device is my blue tooth headphone (airpods from apple)
If i pause the music, leave the playlist, select another playlist and select a song from their, the music starts playing again.
sometimes for a few seconds, sometimes for half a hour, but then the same problem occurs.
sometimes the sound just falls away, sometimes the song first starts to crack (like the connections is bad)
I don't have any other problems with my airpods, not even on other non-apple products, so I don't see why i should blame theme.
anyone else has the same problem?

@Pevers I hope you're doing well! That is very strange, haven't heard of this before. Keen to hear if there are more users experiencing this?
Are you still experiencing the same? How often does this happens?
Have you performed a restart on your Ionic whenever this happens?
Also, when this happens, are you doing any specific activity or using an app in specific?
Keep me posted!

Yes still experiencing this problem, almost every time i try to play music from my ionic.
I have performed a restart of my ionic after this happend. it didn't help.
I restarted my airpods. didn't help.
i removed the airpod as a bluetooth device and reconnected. didn't help.
the problem mostly occurs when i'm outdoors. (walking, cycling, running, doesn't matter)
i have less problem indoors.
i wear the airpod on my left wrist.
i have less problems if i only use the left airpod and leave the right one in the container.
a short time after i put the right one in my ear as well, the music won't come out of my airpod.
The ionic says it still playing and there still is a bluetooth connection between the ionic and the airpods. Also i can choose next song or pause with my airpod, and on my ionic i can see i did so.
If I pause and wait for 5 till 10 seconds or so. and then start play again, music will come out of my airpod. if i'm outside and have both airpods in, mostly not for a very long time.

Would be interested to know if there is a fix for this, I’m having the same problem with my jaybird freedom 2’s. They work fine indoors but as soon as I go out for a run the music cuts in and out, which is really frustrating.

I have the same issue with airpods and fitbit ionic. I play music, but once I start running it cuts out. I have to hold the watch next to my head for it to work

Hello guys @aname123 @Pevers @samobrien14, I'm sorry to hear about the inconveniences you're having when listening to your music. Thanks for already troubleshooting this, nice way to go!
Sounds possibly like a Bluetooth conflict. I'm assuming you’ve got your headphones paired with your phone as well. Try turning off Bluetooth on your phone while listening to music on the Ionic, or any other device the headphones might be paired with.
This just happened to me once. My headphones were paired with my phone as well as my watch. I was running out of the zone for my phone. Not so much an Ionic issue, as the way my headphones handle loosing connection to a device. I've removed the pairing to my phone and now it's all good again.
If the issue persists, there is a workaround that has helped other users. Please double check that you've followed every single step I'm posting below:
Let me know how it goes!

No that is not the problem.
the bluetooth on my phone is off, or I'm running outside without my phone when this problems are happening.
Also, as i mentioned, my ionic mentiones there is a connection with my airpods.
and i am able to select next song with my airpods, and i see on my ionic that the next song should be playing, but there is no sound comming from my airpods.
the best thing for me that works is if i only use my left airpod and leave the right one at home. (i wear the ionic on my left wrist)
it is a solution, but not a satisfying one.

Thanks for getting back to me @Pevers! I totally understand you, we've exhausted all the troubleshooting steps to solve this, but the inconvenience persists.
Some users have reported issues like this with Airpods, Beats and Jaybird headphones. We are aware of the problem and are working to resolve it as quickly as possible.
We're sorry for any inconvenience it's caused. We appreciate your patience and look forward to getting you back on track very soon.
In the meantime, my recommendation would be to keep doing what you've done so far. As you say, it's a solution, but no a satisfying one. I'll make sure to keep you posted as soon as we receive some updates from our team.
Let me know if there's anything else I can do for you.

The problem is the Bluetooth antenna (signal) on the Ionic and the Versa and not strong enough.
I painfully loaded music onto my Versa on Tuesday, tested it out while stationary, and everything was fine.
I went for a run yesterday and as soon as I started running the music would come in and out. It was horrid. Music always went out when my right arm was on the downswing, meaning my body is now between my headphone antenna on my right ear and the Versa on my left arm. The signal from the antenna is not strong enough. My cell phone on my left arm has no issues so I am not going to blame the headphones.
If I held my left arm out in front of me a little and didn't move the music was fine.
This is hardware, there is no firmware fix and is an embarrassing limitation on a fitness product. Fitness people do things like, ya know, run!

I am having the same issue. I just received the versa and am using iPods and they start playing for 30secs and cut out. I have tried all of the steps that have been given in this forum but have been unable to resolve. Would love to know when and how to fix it

As sjones1360 has pointed out it is very likely to be a hardware problem of the fitbit.
This means there is no way to fix it.
Which means that the next sportwatch im going to buy wont be one from fitbit.
But a (not very satisfying) solution for me is to only use the left airpod (if you wear you watch on you left wrist) and leave the right airpod at home.

I resorted to moving the Versa to my right wrist while running. I don’t find it to be a big deal and am OK with it.

With respect to the Airpods not working with my Ionic - same problem (in addition to the ongoing challenge of not being able to control volume with Airpods). Very frustrating, as one of the main selling points for me was to be able to run without taking my phone.
My sense after trying to fix this is that it's a conflict between the running app and BT connection to the Airpods. When I warm up, the running app is off, and music works fine. But as soon as I turn running app on and start to run, I usually lose the connection (music) within 5 minutes, if not immediately like today.
I chose the Ionic going against my better judgement of picking the Apple Watch. I did this because of the fitness-centric approach of the Ionic. My bad - between this ongoing issue, a much less accurate HR readings than I would have hoped for (I didn't expect it to match my chest strap, but 50 - 100% off in accuracy, c'mon!), and wildly high calorie estimates, this thing is nothing more than a novelty.

I have the same issue and agree with Chcoburn that it looks like a conflict with the running app and the music app. I have no issue listening to music via my airpods when the running app is not on, within 5 to 10 seconds of the running app starting the airpods stop working (though the bluetooth connection is live and I can switch songs etc.. just no music playing through the airpods). I will test using the running app with GPS turned off and see if teh music still works without the conflict. Very frustrating as my main reason for buying teh futbit was to be able to listen to music while running and not have to carry my phone. Please fix this ASAP Fitbit.

Silimar problem here. Listening to my Jaybird Freedom with the Ionic works fine when the running app is off but as soon as I turn the running app on, the music starts glitching. It will not stop but it will glitch every 20 seconds or so. Anoying enough to choose running without music. If this can’t work I will return the watch to the store for refound as this feature is the main one why I purchased this watch.

Yes it happened to me and I gave up. It appears the airpod just loses its pairing after a 30sec approx.

Absolutely. Why would I ever not have my music stream from my iPhone directly to airpod if I'm indoors? The whole point of fitbits music feature was so we could leave those bulky phone behind but that doesn't work because of this fatal issue in ionic!
I'm ready to throw away mine and go with Apples watch. Their whole ecosystem JUST WORKS!
This seems like a were if time coz it didn't appear that Fitbit even wants to acknowledge the problem. Really Fitbit? You didn't know about this issue while testing prior to releasing a false promises??!!

01-20-2019 07:27
BS!!!
My phone was no where within a mile of my ionic or airpod and the two had been paired and I was stressing music for exactly 30s and then it stops

01-20-2019 07:28
See it's something along these lines I suspect!! Fitbit knows this but it's unwilling to admit.

Junk Fitbit man!! After reading their response to these posts I'm conceived the are a two-bit con shop who launches half baked feature just hoping to bamboozle enough users to keep Pace with the onslaught from Apple.
LAST TIME IM BUYING FitBit
