Steps are not registered

My steps are not adding up iv done 116000 steps since I bought my device yet it seems to be sticking on 70000. I have reset the device and this has not helped any clues would be good thanks.

I assume we are talking about the step total as shown on the friends tile. If so, this tile shows the steps taken so far today plus the steps for the previous 6 days. Once you have logged at least a week of data the total will always go down at midnight as it deletes the oldest day's data to make room for the new day.

Would this account for what you are seeing?

Yes this is correct so it’s not really a competition then if it keeps resetting after each night !

Thanks for the reply I would of thought it would just keep logging the steps in total ?
