Steps while sleeping

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I woke up this morning to find that I apparently had taken nearly 7,000 steps as I slept. I was wearing my Ionic, and the dashboard shows that I was in light sleep during that time, but the step counter shows me running over three miles at a 4:47 pace. Even if it's (clearly) counting steps in error, it seems that with this app the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing. There's no communication between the different parts of the app.

Why is this happening and how do I correct it?

Hi @Bgg1, it's nice to see you again participating here in the Community Forums, sorry for the delayed reply.

Thanks for bringing this to my attention, seems odd that your device is recording such amount of steps when you're asleep. To better assist you with this, can you please let me know when was the first time you experienced this issue and how many times since then? If you haven't already done so, please restart your Ionic and delete the steps that were erroneously added into your account following the steps from our help article: How do I add, edit, or delete Fitbit data and activities? and let me know how it goes.

Let me know if you have any additional questions.
