Stops tracking workout 500m into a run

About 500m into a run it will stop tracking. The Fitbit logo comes up and it goes back to regular watch face. I restart the run and it will work for the rest of the run. This does not happen while biking. I checked to make sure I was not accidentally restarting by inadvertently pushing the buttons. Yes I have restarted both the watch and app. which seems to be the fix suggested for everything.

Welcome to the Fitbit Community @fortgoodman! Thanks for already troubleshooting this inconvenience with your Run activities on your Ionic, nice way to go!

If your Ionic is dropping during the use of the "Exercise App", please check your Exercise App settings (Sprocket in the top left corner) and make sure your "Auto-Pause" is turned off.

Do you have auto-cues enabled for laps? If so, is the interval 500m? Last Friday I received similar reports about this, there seems to be an issue where the Exercise app will crash when the first auto-cue distance is reached. Restarting the run after this crash will allow the run to complete with no further crashes as you stated.

Also, try to interact with the Exercise app before the first cue point by swiping the face once or twice.

If you can confirm that this is what you're experience and if the issue is resolved by doing those steps, that would be super helpful and I can forward that to our team. Man Wink
