Hi,
this morning I had something strange happening with the synchronization between my phone and the Ionic.
I turned my phone on, and after a while I opened the Fitbit app. The app tried to sync with the Ionic, which was right next to the phone. The sync failed (Synchronization failed, please try again later.), however the Calorie count and the weekly activity count did get updated properly. Sleep info, step info etc. did not show up in the Fitbit app.
I tried a few times to sync, but the result was the same each time, and the same error message showed up as well.
I then turned Bluetooth off on my phone, waited 10 seconds or so, and turned it back on again.
I immediately opened the Fitbit app, and to my surprise, all of today's data showed up right away. The app did not have the change to sync at all. ( The little icon at the top right did not even flash, and the bar at the top of the screen did not advance from left to right either).
That to me means the data was there already (in the Fitbit app I mean), but it just did not show up before .... this is strange of course, since cycling Bluetooth should not have an effect on this part of the Fitbit app I would think ?
Problem with the app on the phone by any change ? Anybody who has seen this happening ?

This sounds very weird, thanks for bringing this to our attention and for the troubleshoots that you performed. As a first step I recommend performing the restart, if you experiencing syncing issues again please follow the Syncing troubleshoots listed on this article.

I checked the trouble shooting section, and I had already performed all the steps listed, and my phone as well as the Ionic are running the latest software / firmware as well.
This morning the same thing happened again, so it looks like I can now replicate this on a daily basis.

I thought I would add to this topic. I went through the whole troubleshoot yesterday and my phone sync fine from 11:35 to 4:35 according to the last time sync. I turned on my phone this morning and cals have updated, but steps and sleep did not updated. I just turned off the ionic and Bluetooth. Turned both ionic and Bluetooth back on and steps, floor and miles updated. sleep still has not updated and sync now indicated yesterday at 4:35 still.
