Strava and Ionic not linking

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I have been given an Ionic and would like to use Strava. I've set up an account and linked it to Fitbit (my recent runs are showing). I've also tried to authorise via the Fitbit app - I press login, then authorise, but when I go back to Strava on the Fitbit app my name has appeared under login but it still says not authorised above it. My watch just says I need to link it up via the Fitbit app. On the Fitbit website Strava is listed as an app with permissions to share, and in Strava it says it can share with Fitbit, and all the updates and permissions needed are toggled on. I've tried uninstalling both apps. Any ideas please?

@Sugar-Bun It's nice to see you on the Community. Thanks for the details mentioned and the troubleshooting tried.

I've seen this issue with Strava and Fitbit on the forums but this procedure has worked for some:

- Verify your app is setup correctly check the instructions here

- Manually sync and wait a few moments

- Leave the Fitbit app running in the background of the phone for the app to receive updates

Keep me posted.

Hi, thanks for your reply. I have tried that without success. My watch still tells me to link it up on the fitbit app, the strava section of the fitbit app says it's not authorised even though I've pressed login then authorise and my name has appeared underneath, and walks I've done today have appeared on the strava app.

I had the same issue, not sure if its fixed or if I just went about it in a different way then expected. Try this, no settings changes it just works everytime. Swipeleft to the exercise Ikon (Running man), scroll till you find "Run" Hit start and go from there. I know, your thinking this isnt strava, as did I, but everything will log into strava. I use it for cycling, not running but I sure its similar. When I open strava on Ionic it only shows history, but you have to start your run from the excercise Ikon in the Ionic.

I beat myself to death over this and thought the excercise Ikon was just a internal tracker in the watch, I was so fed up one day I thought Id use it, low and behold my ride showed up on strava. Good luck Sugar

Hi, thanks for your reply. This is the way I am logging my runs with the watch. When I select strava on my watch it tells me I have to go to the strava bit of the fitbit app and login. I have done this several times but it won't authorise. This means I can map runs which do appear in the strava app on my phone but can't see any data using the strava app on my watch.

Hi Tony, no fix yet I'm afraid. I was going to chase this weekend. What does it say in the strava bit of your fitbit app? I've followed the link and pressed 'authorise' I don't know how many times, but when it directs me back to fitbit it still says 'not authorised.' I can see my runs in strava but I would like to see them on my watch!

Hi Sugar. My apps are saying its Authorised and sign in my problem is the fitbit. Everytime I try and link starva through Fitbit it saying link account and log in which I have already done.
Tried restarting phone fitbit. Signing in and out I get the authorise log in from strava but not on fitbit

I have the same issues with my Strava app on my watch.  Everything is connected, it says authorized, it does sync with Strava but the app info isn't on my watch and it keeps saying link account, go to strava settings on your Fitbit mobile app to log in.  Looking forward to hearing the fix.

Hi Silvia

Are there any updates please? My Ionic just did a huge update and I went into the Strava app on fitbit and it asked me to log in again. When I did this, it finally changed to 'authorised' for the first time, however, on my watch it still says I need to log in. I've checked Strava and the authorisations on fitbit and both say data can be shared with Strava.

I'd appreciate an update please, thanks.
