Strava log in for ionic

I've logged in a few times through the Strava app. It takes me to a sort of tiles console for editing different settings for Fitbit. When I navigate to the Strava icon on the watch it still says to use the Strava app to login like I haven't logged in yet. Each time I try to add a device on Strava it lets me log in but doesn't seem to save the device. Any help?

Thanks for the details mentioned about logging in Strava app to get it working on your Ionic. 

I would like you to make sure you did this procedure to install and set up Strava on your watch. After linking Strava, sync your watch. If you're still seeing that your watch is still asking you to log in to Strava, please restart your Ionic and leave the Fitbit app running in the background of the phone for the app to receive updates.

So Ive finally connected the other app in each of the apps and i can open the Strava button via the watch itself today, but it just shows details of previous rides. When i start a bike ride on the watch itself, will it automatically sync and upload to Strava, recording the trail map and the heart rate to the Strava app?

@webekyle Thanks for getting back. I apologize for the delayed in my reply. 

The Strava app on your Ionic will only display the previous rides. However, if you track your activity using GPS, this will sync to your Strava account but heart rate data won't. If you track an activity using GPS on Strava, this will sync to Fitbit.
