I just picked up an ionic coming from an Apple 3 watch. Mainly because I like the look of the ionic better than the Apple Watch. However I was extremely disappointed to see the Fitbit doesn’t have weight training tracking. Meaning reps and sets and weight tracking. The Apple Watch has it along with many other things. I’ll be returning my Ionic Monday. It’s a shame because I really liked the watch. But it doesn’t track what I need. I’ve read a few other topics on the same subject. Doesn’t seem like it’s even on the horizon either.

i had an android wear watch before, that did have the rep tracking based on the g sensors.
problem i found was that i didnt want to record ever single rep and see that auto detect exercise was wrong, then swipe away the whole thing accidentally. I much prefer how i have this now on the ionic.
i just set weight training and that it, i also see a pretty decent burn compared to the other trackers. One thing to think about though, we have the pebble development to learn from as they apps arent that dissimilar, the devs are making apps, and this could just be something that coming, or something that could be made.

Does the AWS3 count reps and sets manually or automatically. Does it categorize the routines or you get something like a summary of 40 sets and 400 reps for 60 minute weight training?

I'm not sure of the accuracy of rep counting on the AW, but the Garmin Vivoactiv 3 has rep counting. It was actually more of a pain than it was a feature. The VA3 was accurate maybe 50% of the time, if that. I liked the idea of rep counting and thought it would be a cool feature which is why I went to the VA3 to begin with. Now that I've made the switch to the Ionic I realize how unnecessary it really was.
