Suggestion for the display to not turn on when receiving notifications

It would be nice if we could have the option to get buzzed only for notifications without the screen automatically coming on (like it does when it reminds you about the hourly step goal). I realize some people like the screen to come on automatically but I do not wish for just anyone being able to read my texts or reminders just because they happen to be standing next to me. Also, my spouse gets annoyed when my screen comes on in the middle of the night when I get a text. Please do not tell me turn off notifications because I need to know when people are trying to get in touch with me so that’s not an option...

Hi @FelicityB, nice to see you in the community.

I would recommend voting on the following feature suggestion (here), but unfortunately the status is "not currently planned". I completely agree with you! The option to have notifications behave like this would be great and this is exactly how they were pre OS 3.0.
