Swim Feature

I'm just realizing the Ionic has no GPS option for the Swim feature. Why is that? I open water swim, not pool lap swim. I can't get the swim feature to work properly. It didn't track anything on my swim two days ago. Is this watch unable to track my open water swims? Being forced to put in meters doesn't help as well for open water but minimally I should be able to get total distance. Suggestions?

@edene I noticed in the Settings page of the app, under Exercise Shortcuts, assuming you have added Swim, there is an option to toggle GPS use to map your swim activity. You might want to check you have this enabled.

Thank you! I've gone through everything so many times and swim was the only one without the GPS on. Appreciated.

It actually didn't work. Turned on via instructions yet when I got to hit Swim workout, no GPS icon is showing. So this is frustrating. I also just did an hour workout and it showed as syncing to my phone app but it's not pulling up. Watch is saying my total active time has been 54 minutes for the day. And I can't retrieve the workout stats. Pretty frustrating watch thus far.

I open water swim too. GPS not working even tho I have it enabled.

I just spoke with them. The GPS feature doesn't work for the SWIM on the Ionic and they didn't explain why it was even an option on the APP. So, I'm returning the watch. Very frustrating. But easy return process.

If you track it as a run in gps and then go onto strava and u can turn it into a swim u might even be able to do that on the fitbit app

I can not see the gos option iny exercise screen

 Also the swim distance is not correctly meaared although the pool length is correct

I have tried tracking it as a run. Didn't track 1/2 of the workout. 😕

I don't know how you have GPS feature for swimming.  The app on my phone does not have it. Strange.
