Swim Mode - Inaccurate measurement

Hello, I attempted to find this solution in the community feeds.  But everything seemed to be outdated or solutions applied - so I was afraid i would not get a response.

I bought my Ionic in October 2018 with the reason to use watch during my weekly swims, since I have been very happy. However, the last 2 weeks I am not sure what is happening with the lap counting / yardage swim feature.

The Ionic is not counting all my laps - for the first 400 yards - it is pretty accurate.  Then it gets stuck - it says I have only gone 25 yards when I have gone over 100 yards.  then it may revert back to counting okay, but repeats the pattern hold pattern.  (Please note: this is a continuous freestyle swim.)

A few notes: The pool was changed from 50 Meters to 25 yards - so I adjusted the lap swim length last week and it was funky.  So last week, I looked and there was an updated to the app that I downloaded - rechecked my lap length on the device and on the app and then restarted it.  Thinking that would work (because that seems to help in most cases, but found out it did not do the trick this time.  It did the same thing for my swim yesterday.

FYI, Last year, when I started it was a 25 yard pool in the fall / winter  then changed to a long course pool (50 m) for the summer.  I had no issues with the changes. So, I am stuck trying to figure out what else I need to try - I am a long distance swimmer, so the length count is very important to me and your advice is appreciated!!

Welcome to the Community @A5kil3s. Thanks for the detailed information shared and the troubleshooting tried.

I appreciate the research done prior posting. It's pretty weird what you're experiencing. I would like you to perform a factory reset and then set once again the pool length settings on your Ionic

Let me know how it goes.

Thanks Silvia, if it happens on my next swim, I will try the factory reset.  I really do not want to lose all my data and settings.  I will let you know if it works!
