Syncing ionic with iPhone 8

My ionic was working with my iPhone 8 for a couple of days. Now I can’t get it to sync at all. It won’t even show up on my Bluetooth device list. Any ideas would be helpful and appreciated!

Hey there @Mike_Schiemann, thanks for stopping by! Keep in mind that syncing difficulty is usually caused by a missing requirement. Verify each requirement before moving on to the troubleshooting steps.

 

If your device still won't sync, try these steps:

 

  1. Force quit the Fitbit app.
  2. Go to Settings > Bluetooth and turn Bluetooth off and back on.
  3. Open the Fitbit app.
  4. If your Fitbit device didn't sync, restart your iPhone or iPad. 
  5. Open the Fitbit app.
  6. If your Fitbit device didn't sync, restart it

 

Give this a shot and let me know how it goes!

Is there any timetable as to WHEN the fitbit app will be updated to be compatible with the iPhone 8?

I tried everything to aync that was suggested. Do I need to take it back to the store for a full refund?

I FINALLY got mine to sync. Here are the steps I followed:
Delete the Fitbit app from my phone
“forget” all other bluetooth devices from phone
Reload the Fitbit app
Sync the Ionic
Then add the other devices as I go
So far, it has worked and I haven’t had any other issues. Make sure you have the latest firmware update for the Ionic before you proceed.

I saw a post that said this issue had been resolved; however, I bought my Ionic last month, and although it worked fine up until this week, it has stopped syncing with my phone.  I did the reinstall yesterday and it synced at that time, but has not synced since.  This is very frustrating!

I have done all of the steps listed in your post and although it worked at that time, it did not continue to sync.

I have to leave my Fitbit app open and then it tends to work better.

I am still not able to sync my Fitbit with my Iphone

I tried all of these, my phone doesn't see the Ionic in BT options. I did have an IOS update and did the update, restarted all devices... still nothing. Started with a sync issue, now can't connect to BT to get the update from Fitbit.

Seriously, this is an issue. I can't even get mine to pair, no mater which instructions from Fitbit I follow. This is maddening, and it's happened several times.
