Syncing wireless headphoes to the Ionic

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I have Avantree Jogger wireless headphones and I cannot seem to get the Ionic to "find them". I have no trouble with my cellphone, but I would prefer to not run with it if I can just have the Ionic.

Thoughts please!

Since your having no problems with the cell phone @Asphalteater the first thing to do is to turn the cell phone's Bluetooth off, if the phone is within 50 feet .

Now that we are sure the headphones are not connected to the phone, let's try and pair the headphones to the ionic .

With most headphones, they will only be visible to a search for a little while when first turned on.

Thank you for the assist. I turned off the cellphone bluetooth and I turned to the instructions on the headphones and saw where I missed a step - operator error!

I think it was more of a case of not understanding how Bluetooth works.

You can think of Bluetooth like a headphone with a wire. To connect the headphone to a different device. .It first needs to be disconnected from the device it is connected to.

This connection can be a simple wire connection or a connection through a radio.

The Fitbit Flyer has a trick in that it has has two BT connections, allowing it to connect to both the ionic and the phone at the same time

Hey guys,

I've been doing some trouble shooting:

My bluetooth earbuds don't work with my Ionic, though they did the first time. Now they are intermittently connected at best. I tried switching the right earbud(it the receiver) to my left ear to match my left wrist - no help. The earbuds work with my Sony phone.

I removed the earbuds from the settings, and added my JBL Flip(a great little external speaker) and it worked! It worked even from another room, and even while I was outside!

I am thinking that that I will try JBL earbuds....I won't spend anymore money with Fitbit because their earbuds are not rated well and are expensive!

@Rich_Laue I fear that this is purposefully engineered problem to try to
make us buy the crappy fitbit earbud. Would not be surprised.

Engineered by who, Fitbit? Or is it the manufacturer of the Bluetooth modual.

Fitbit says it should pair to Bluetooth headphones. A speaker or car radio should also pair the same way.

Engineered by fitbit to force us to buy the fitbit earbuds - I have read
that customer service is not helping those with non fitbit brand
earbuds.... Nor have they published a list of recommendations....

With many thousands maybe millions of Fitbit speaker devices on the market, I don't expect Fitbit to test each of them.

The cause could be a probkempwith the Bluetooth interface Fitbit choose to use.
