Tap to turn on

My Fitbit Ionic is set to manual and still turns on with a tap. Which is very annoying considering while taking a shower the other day....I went for a run. Because the water hitting it caused it to turn on the run function. Has also turned off exercise while I was still exercising! Manual should mean that it only turns on when the buttons a pushed. This causes a lot of inconsistency in stats! Horrible function!!

Hello @Mike123456 and Welcome.  As an Ionic owner, let me see if I can shed some light here.  So, when you have your Ionic set to "Manual" any Screen Taps or Button Presses will get your Ionic to activate, hence your manually doing something (personally, I like the AUTO function, but it's not for everyone).  So it seems your Ionic is working correctly.  What's confusing is this: "Because the water hitting it caused it to turn on the run function. Has also turned off exercise while I was still exercising"  Can you please provide some more details as to what happened on these two events?  Thanks and Keep on STEPPING!

Because of the water hitting the face causing it to turn it got turned to the run function and stared a run for me. The touch is way to sensitive once the screen comes on it can accidentally get tyrned yo any function the screen should not come on unless buttons are pressed. This has also happen when I have a exercise function turned on because I turned it on.....it some how got turned on by touch and stopped my exercise. Touch function is way to sensitive! Once the face is on anything can be hit on accident with out you even knowing

Hello @Mike123456 and thanks for posting back.  Unfortunately, there is no sensitivity settings for the screen, BUT, the most that should be happening is the Clock Screen comes on and than goes off.  Rain and or just tapping the screen by accident, should NOT be getting to the Exercise App and than starting an Exercise all by itself.  So let me ask you these questions:

1.  Please tell me how you wear your band; tight, snug or loose.

2.  Go to the FIRST App screen after the Clock Face (Slide to the Left) and tell me what APPS are positioned on the Left Side (Top Left=?? and Bottom Left=??).

3.  Are you using any case or screen protectors?

Please advise and Thanks!
