My daughter has an Ionic. She does not have a phone. I was wondering if I could somehow track her when she is catching the bus from middle school. Is there a feature or an app that would allow me to see where she is on a map? It'd be a pretty cool feature. If it has GPS, shouldn't it be possible? Or, is the problem is that there isn't a connection? Thanks.

While the Ionic has GPS, it will only be turned on while it is in a multisport mode such as when recording a walk or run.
As for you being able to track, your daughter this is not possible, first as mentioned GPS is usually off, second if it is on, the user would still need the Ionic to be connected to the internet, which would require a phone. the Ionic would need an additional app that sends out, to the internet, the users location through a phone.

@jbaldwin1110, in addition to the info @Rich_Laue provided, even if she had a phone & app to connect the Ionic to the Internet for updating the information, it would not be real-time info - the GPS data is passed to the app, and stored on the Fitbit server only when the tracker is synced, it is not "live" data.

Yep - that's what I figured. Thank you for your quick reply.
