I left my Ionic at health club. When I remembered and returned, of course, it was gone. I reported to front desk and lo and behold, two days later, they called me to say it was returned. I had a lock PIN assigned to it (I supposed this is why it was returned - the thief couldn't access it). However, when it was given to me, "Unlock with your phone" was showing on screen. I've read all over this board and tried using Fitbit app on my Samsung phone to 'disable pin', but I continue to receive message: "Error connecting to Ionic. Make sure it is close by and turned on." The watch and phone are TOUCHING EACH OTHER. Upon first setting up watch, I had minor difficulty with syncing, but quickly worked through those problems. I was able to set up a lock PIN, so that shows that all devices were paired. Now, although the watch syncs - as evidenced by the fact that both my phone and my pc show syncing occurred (and how long ago). So why do these devices not seem to be able to 'find' each other to disable the PIN?

I did find a solution! This is a bit time consuming, but it did work. First turn off everything that is blue tooth enabled. Tablets, other phones, I have a Surge along with Ionic and I powered that off too. Turn off the blue tooth on your PC. Wireless headphones hanging around - power off. You don't want any stray 'signals' effecting this process. Then, unpair your Ionic from your phone.
1) Open up the Fitbit app on your phone.
2) Select the 'account' icon in top right corner of screen.
3) This shows "your account", which should have your Ionic under 'Devices'.
4) Select "+ set up a device".
5) Replace Ionic. You will need to agree that you are indeed replacing your Ionic on next screen.
Continue through all instructions. You are basically pretending to add a 'new' watch to this app. Follow all instructions. You will get a 4-digit code to input during the process (this is not the 'unlock' code). Push through everything and you should be find.
Good Luck!
