My ionic went flat (I suspect that it went flat very quickly as it was reasonably well charged in the morning and was flat by the evening without using any of the apps) and will now not turn on or charge.
When I connect it to the charger it shows 0% for around five seconds then the screen turns off. I have cleaned the charging connection points with water and a toothbrush and it has been on the charger for over a day.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated as it is less than a year old.

Hello @Andy.P., welcome to the Community Forums! It's a pleasure to assist you today.
Thanks for bringing this to my attention and for troubleshooting your Ionic prior to posting. To better assist you with this, can you please let me know if the heart rate sensors of your device are still flashing when you connect it into the charging cable or is your device completely unresponsive? If you haven't already done so, I recommend you to check our help article: Why isn't my battery charging on my Fitbit device? and let me know how it goes. Such article includes a restart process which can be really helpful for this situation.
Let me know if you have any additional questions, I'll be here.
