My home network is 5GHz so I cannot use wifi to update the firmware on my Ionic. Is there any way to use Bluetooth to update the firmware?

You can update over bluetooth but it takes forever (well, hours at least). See: https://help.fitbit.com/articles/en_US/Help_article/2047/
