User configurable music controls

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

The recent 2.0 OS update changed the functions of the physical buttons of the music controller to be volume up/down instead of skip/pause as they were before.

I realize lots of folks might want volume controls to be what they use the buttons for, but I rarely need to change the volume of the music I'm playing.  I mostly want to be to skip forward (to the next song) or back to the previous song.  The Pebble Time Steel had the music controls down perfectly.  Top right: skip back, middle: pause/play, bottom right: skip forward.

The thing I want to do is be able to press a  button--without having to look at my watch--to skip, pause/play, skip back.  Not having to look at my watch is what made the Pebble so useful.

It would be nice if the function of the physical buttons was user-selectable to match their usage.

It's great to see you around @RJFB. Thank you so much for posting your comments. Fitbit is always trying to improve the features that are implemented on trackers. I was checking the Feature Suggestion board and I found this idea Customise buttons Ionic, you may want to vote for it as they are reviewed by our engineers and developers.

Customizable buttons to get to the apps I want would be a great feature.

In this case, what I would like is for the physical buttons while in the music controls to be assignable, so that I could assign them to skip/pause/play instead of volume.

Basically, I'm far more likely to want to skip/pause/play/skip back than I'd want to change the volume.  Especially where I'm in a scenario where I don't want to have to look at my watch to perform the action.

Thank you for pointing me at the other feature suggestion, I did vote for it.  Not quite the same as I'm asking for here.
