The bluetooth sync with my Ionic has always been shaky on fitbit Windows 10 app. I purchased a fitbit dongle and it syncs fine now. However when I try to setup an app such as weather or game golf, fitbit tells me to turn on bluetooth even though the dongle is in and working. How do I get around that?

Hi @DHman welcome to the Community Forums, it's a pleasure to assist you with your concern.
I appreciate all the details that were shared in your post, seems odd that your Ionic is having difficulties with the Bluetooth connection of your Windows 10 app. Can you please let me know if you're using a laptop or a desktop computer? Also, when was the first time you experienced the Bluetooth connection difficulties? You already tried with another mobile device or computer to see if this is occurring only with this specific device?
I recommend you to turn on the Bluetooth of your computer even though the Dongle is in and working, also, make sure that the WiFi connection is strong enough because some devices must be connected to Wi-Fi for some apps to install or update. For instructions on connecting your watch to Wi-Fi, see How do I connect my Fitbit watch to Wi-Fi?
Looking forward to your reply, let me know how it goes.

Just wanted to throw in my two cents as I also mainly use windows 10 (laptop) and Bluetooth a fair amount of the time.
If you haven't, make sure to go to Bluetooth settings and be sure all the settings are correct.
In particular I would check that "Download over metered connections" is set appropriately cause if it isn't it will for sure give you fits with downloading apps. This of course is only if your using such a connection.
Another thing you may wanna try is going to device manager, looking for the Bluetooth setting (usually the third or fourth down) and highlight each one by one and right clicking, then clicking "Update drivers" to make sure they are up to date.
Another is if you have the Fitbit app on multiple devices to make sure you arent trying to connect to your Bluetooth while your phone or another device is already connected.
That will be a recipe for frustration (Ive done it were I get home from work and have my watch synched to my phone, throw it in the drawer and forget about it, then try and sync with the Ionic on windows ANNNND...Its not gonna happen. Just turn off or disconnect your Ionic through bluetooth before connecting on windows)
Above are more solutions after you have tried the more obvious like turning bluetooth on and off, restarting the fitbit app etc.
Another question to ask yourself is :Do I have other devices connected to my Bluetooth like external speakers etc and 1. Do I also have issues with those devices like the Ionic??
and also 2. Have I tried disabling those connections temporarily and then attempt a connection with my Ionic??
Good luck with everything and sorry if I dumped to much on you depending on your familiarity with the settings etc (In general I feel the troubleshooting guides that Fitbit offers to be very basic at best)
However the above response from the previous response is the best one as far as them mentioning Wifi… Though I realize some people are stuck with satellite connections which, Idk how they do it lol without tearing out there hair.
