Fitbit, in conjunction with the US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), announced a voluntary recall of Fitbit Ionic smartwatches, which the company introduced in 2017 and stopped producing in 2020. The battery in the Ionic smartwatch can overheat, posing a burn hazard.
The health and safety of Fitbit users is our highest priority. We are taking this action out of an abundance of caution for our users. We will offer a refund to Fitbit Ionic customers.
This voluntary recall is specific to Fitbit Ionic devices. It does not impact any other Fitbit smartwatches or trackers.
If you have an impacted Fitbit Ionic device, please stop using it and visit our webpage where you’ll find:

I followed the link that they sent to me after selecting that I wanted a refund. But 9 hours later and I've received no confirmation that the verification has taken place and my ionic stopped syncing shortly after.

@randijaa Yeah, same for me, as i saw on this forum, they will send you a debit card, a physical one, that will have the refund amount on it, so you can spend it on the things you want, strange but it is what it is. About your Ionic, does it still works and shows the time? My does, but sync is not working anymore.

I got the same partial email

I'm having an issue where the verify account link takes me to a page to confirm my location, but it is set to United States despite my account settings stating my correct location so I can't get any further either.

I just talked to someone in the live chat and they said the system that sends the e-mails out is clogged up because of the amount of people trying to get refunds and to just be patient?

I tried contacting support. The chat doesn't work and the phone number says it's closed two hours before it should close according to the website.
Yesterday i verified my account but not receive the email with the discount codes. I would like to order an other fitbit to replace my Ionic, which i could not use anymore...

I had this problem in the beginning and clearing my cache/cookies in my browser and refreshing the page worked.

Thank you - that worked! Now just to wait those 7 days for device syncing to be disabled and 3-6 weeks for the refund hopefully.
Bit torn though as my watch has been working fine until now, but better safe than sorry I suppose.

Based in Ireland. Received the link to the discount codes about 24 hours after first going through the refund process and having the sync disabled. The email gives a bit of information around the refund but not a huge amount we didn't already know.

the refund is either sent as a credit to PayPal or a prepaid MasterCard in the mail/post at least in the US and UK

IOnic recall- anyone has manages to do a recall for a ´dead’ or ´bricked’ Ionic or one that won’t charge. If so, how did you proceed.
