Best AnswerHey MSDK I called Fitbit tech support today and we were able to get it working. Basically, this is what we did:
1. Completely deleted the Fitbit app off my phone
2. Unpaired the tracker from my phone's bluetooth (the actual phone, not the fitbit app)
3. Restarted my phone (turned off and on)
4. Connected to wifi (I was previously using my celluar data)
5. Reinstalled Fitbit app
6. Paired the Ionic through the fitbit app
7. Opened the wallet app inside the ionic -- this time it went through.
Once my card was added I had to call my CC company to verify and add it to the Fitbit pay account which was easy. I don't know if you have tried this, but it worked for me. I'm on a Motorola Moto X 2 w/ Androld 6.0. My Ionic firmware version is 27.25.16.7. I haven't made any purchases yet but everything seems to be working. Hope this helps you! Good luck.

@MSDK @Junior86 @Bikerdog I've passed the feedback along to our Android team to investigate the cause for this error message when you're already on the latest firmware. Thanks for sharing that uninstalling and re-installing the app and giving it another go resolved the issue for you. Glad to hear you were able to successfully get set up.

Which part of the process are you stuck on?
Were you able to get to the screen where it lets you types in card info?
Best AnswerSo I recently had to reset my fitbit in order to get rid of the dev options. As soon as I went to reset up fitbit pay, it wouldn't sync it to my watch. So I deleted the current card I had on my account and tried to readd it. It wouldn't talk to the ionic to send it. So I uninstalled the fitbit app from my phone and reinstalled it... now when I try to go to adding it, the app says "Error Connecting to ionic. Make sure it is close by and turned on."
It's close by (earing it on the same arm as the hand holding the phone). It's turned on. And I know it can sync step data since I literally did that 5 seconds before I went into setting up the card. What gives?
I can't seem to use my Fitbit app on my Windows 10 pc to create a wallet....so, I used the Fitbit app on my Samsung phone. I went to the 'wallet' tile, opened it and then a "Fitbit pay" screen opened which I clicked on 'get started'. It took multiple tries (over several weeks, mind you) for this to sync and take me to the next step: creating a pin. My Ionic face had a number pad displayed, so I entered a 4-digit pin. THEN NOTHING. I went back to phone, which had reverted back to the six tile app screen and re-opened 'wallet'. This opens up the "Fitbit pay" screen with the same 'get started' red button. When I press button this time, screen just blinks (once) and I'm back on "Fitbit pay" screen. No sync, no nothing. I've powered off both phone and Ionic and repeated effort at least a dozen times. What gives?
I have a similar problem with my phone. I'm also stuck on setting up a PIN. I just get the message, "Cannot connect to Ionic" despite the watch actually touching the phone.
Just shoddy programmin, I would assume for now that the Fitbit Pay feature is in a beta stage, because there's not way a completed program shouldn't get past the first step.
