I get this error when trying to activate the wallet. The Ionic has been updated to firmware 27.25.16.7, which is the newest.

I have turned the watch off and on.

I have turned bluetooth off and on.

Thanks for your post. I had to go thru all the sets 3 times. But the third time was the charm. It worked on the third try.

I dunno why they would release an app or feature that doesn't work. They probably release it just so it's a feature to be included off their checklist, even if it does work. As of right now, I'd say just don't even go near the PIN or the Wallet features, they'll lock up your Ionic for no good reason. We'll just have to wait until both functions are fixed to use the wallet app.

It's great to have you here @wookietim! Thanks for the details you've mentioned. Usually when your Ionic is having syncing issues after your card has been added, this troubleshoot should help:

- Force quit the Fitbit app

- Reopen the app

- To manually sync Ionic (From the app Dashboard, tap the account icon > tap the Ionic tile > tap sync now) You should see your card art when you hold down the back button after entering the pin if prompted.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

It's great to have you here @tiffanytgs! I would like you to double check the following requirements to make sure your wallet is properly working:

  • Make sure the merchant uses contactless payment methods. Make sure you’ve added a card in the Wallet section of the Fitbit app. Check this article What should I know about Fitbit Pay? for instructions.
  • Make sure the watch face is near the reader and that the cashier knows you’re using a contactless payment.
  • You must wear your watch on your wrist to make payments with Fitbit Pay.
  • If prompted, enter your 4-digit watch PIN code.
  • When the payment succeeds, your watch vibrates and you’ll see a confirmation on the screen.

If after performing this, you're still getting an issue. Please provide me with a screenshot of the error you're getting.

Keep me posted!

Same problem here. I've uninstalled, reinstalled,  rebooted anything and everything and end up in the same place each time. The wallet app, after clicking the "Get Started" button,  does nothing. It just syncs the phone and there is sometimes a screen that flickers. It just doesn't work. I'm using a Samsung S7 edge with the FitBit Ionic.

Hello,

I also have same problem and not able to add card details in the wallet.. Is it a bug ? How can they release a product without implementing the feature and mentioning this feature is added.

I'm not sure what the deal is, but am pretty close to returning mine.
Glitchy, little support, and really doesn't offer much in terms of being a
"smart watch".

Glad you got it working!

Wallet still doesn't work. Just posting again in hopes that someone will eventually notice. When I click on the icon on my phone it just syncs the watch.  Anyone getting this to work?

Yep, seems like this "app" is a non-starter.  I still haven't received any reply from anyone (owner) or from Fitbit explaining how to do this or that they actually got it to work on their device.  I read on Fitbit help to make sure your phone also has a 'pin'.  Did this.  Still doesn't work.

Hi all.

Just wanted to take this opportunity to thank you all for your efforts in setting up Fitbit Pay on your Ionic.

If you are still having a hard time setting up your Fitbit Pay, here are a few things to consider:

  • Fitbit Pay is currently available on Android/iOS. Windows mobile users can expect Fitbit Pay to be available in early 2018
  • You will want to make sure that your bank is currently supported by Fitbit Pay. You can find the full list of supported banks and countries by following the link, here
  • You will need to have a passcode set on your phone. This is required for Fitbit Pay
  • Make sure you’re trying to setup Fitbit Pay over a strong internet connection

Once you have confirmed that you are meeting the requirements above, I recommend following each of the steps detailed in this article. If you’re having trouble after these steps, restart Ionic, force quit the app, and try again.

If you are still unable to get set up or are receiving an error message please let me know and provide screenshots. Thanks!

I have tried adding a card on android and windows platform to no avail. on android I get error message.

on windows 10 app on my computer there is no where to add information.

How can this be resolved please?

I tried setting up the Fitbit wallet and when I added my bank card the message came up saying it wasn’t supported (looked up the list supplied and no my card isn’t supported)

Now my Fitbit comes up with a big Red Cross and message “k-pay detected a problem with the connection between your watch and your phone”

Now my Fitbit won’t get rid of this message, I can’t even see the watch. I can swipe & see the dashboard but then the message comes back again. I’ve factory reset my Fitbit twice, uninstalled app & tracker from my iphone 3 times but as soon as I get it set up again the message comes back again without me even going near the wallet app. I’ve only had the ionic a month & I’m seriously considering returning it. Any advice?

@MattFitbit there are major problems with setting up Fitbit pay on Android. It simply doesn't work on Pixel devices. On picking Wallet from the app you get "Error Registering Ionic with Fitbit Wallet".

Not only that, the first time I tried it it asked me to set up a passcode for the watch which I did. After that there was no way to turn off that passcode because of the above error.

I called support and the person told me that there are known compatibility problems with pixel phones and certain features. I was finally able to get fitbit pay configured using my iPad.

This feature is incredibly buggy and doesn't inspire confidence. How did you release the feature without testing on recent android OS's? Pixel is pure android - if it doesn't work there it is unlikely to work anywhere else.

Also WIFI connectivity has major bugs. I had to run through all kinds of hoops to get the Phone to even connect to my (2,4GHz) WIFI network with WPA2.  The only way I got it working was by enabling the old WEP protocol (which is insecure). This is on both Android and iOS.

Are you running Android or iOS? I ended up doing it from an iOS device and it worked from there.

Setting up wallet apparently requires the network connection as well so if that isn't working (different problem) it won't work either.

Finally got the "wallet" app to work on my Ionic.  I didn't do anything different from what I had tried dozens of times.  However, for some mysterious reason, everything paired up and it worked.  The bad news is none of my credit/debit cards are acceptable.  This is more and more frustrating!!!  AAAUUUGGGHHH

Herbiepepper, I've found one thing very helpful.  I now turn off all blue tooth devices before trying to sync anything with my Ionic.  This means everything.  Turn off blue tooth on your PC (if you're near it) - don't forget to turn back on.  If you have any tablets, wireless headphones, other blue tooth watches (I also have a Surge) - turn 'em all off.  Basically, you're eliminating any other 'wave' interference.  I've been able to sync easily once I do this.

Guys and Girls,

fitbi wallet will not accept card details. Keeps saying that the details entered are incorrect, which the are definitely not.

Anyone else have this issue..

Tia..
