Water damage

Hi.  I've had my Fitbit Ionic now since Jan 2018, and I swim with it regularly and have been pleased that I can track my in-pool progress!! yesterday I got in the pool, and within a few seconds, the screen went blank, never to awaken!  When I look at the back of the watch I can see the moisture in the sensors! I could cry! 😭 So I'm guessing somewhere in the last few weeks it became un-waterproof? 🙄  There are no cracks, scratches etc that would suggest water can now get into the casing!

So now what do I do?  Can it be repaired, is there a hack I can perform to return it to glory? I connected it to charge out of curiosity but the best I can get from it is a full screen glow for 2 sec and nothing after that, or since.  Most expensive ornament on my desk.help

If you are in Europe then you may (just) still be within warranty which runs for 2 years from purchase in Europe. If you are covered then you might be eligible for a replacement.

Hi Steve.  Thanks.  I'm in South Africa.  Not sure what my options are here?

I believe you will have the standard warranty of 12 months.

It doesn't sound good but it might be worth contacting customer support anyway to see if there is anything they can do: contact.fitbit.com
