So I just ordered the new Ionic and it should arrive on Friday and was wondering about the ones that have received their Ionic so far what do you think?

I am honestly getting so annoyed by my ionic vibrating to notify me to calibrate it every single day since the new update that I would no longer recommend this thing to anyone. At the moment I'd really like my money back..
I cannot believe that Fitbit hasn't fixed this yet!

Mine doesn't do that at all. Strange.
Have you tried to factory reset your watch?

Mine hasn't done this either, the only time it did was when I first set it up in September.
I believe it's a bug effecting some users. Either way, fitbit are aware of it and are working to release an update to fix it.

After update I had similar issue. This calibration thing didn't want to go away but at some point it disappeared.
The fact that one of the most "usuful" fixes to any Ionic problem is a factory reset shows how buggy and unfinished Ionic is. I don't remember when last time I had to go through factory reset on any of the hardware I own ( not counting hacking things like CHIP - factory reset is a must in such case 😉 ) but did it 3 times with Ionic since I bought it.

This must be the most unreliable and annoying fitness tracker I've ever came across.
Two things:
1) Took it for my usual 40min Interval Training with Ionic still having 40% battery. This kind of workout usually consumes about 20% of my battery as I use it with GPS enabled.
30 minutes into my workout and my Ionic just died, simply turned off without any warning about low battery or anything. Just blacked out. Came home, plugged into the charger, 0% battery appeared. Just 1 minute later somehow it had 6% battery. Now that is some proper fast charging.
2) The heart rate monitor. I know it's been discussed on this forum millions of times but that thing is soo bloody annoying. I'm doing my interval, running for 2 minutes with all I have, like I just robbed the bank and my ionic is only showing 120bpm. I'm having my short rest and out of a sudden my heart rate goes up to 160bpm. And it goes down again as soon as I start running and so on.
I'm getting seriously fed up with this device.

Had mine since November last year. I've had issues with quick battery drain, inaccurate/halted swimming lap counting and any exercise tracking crashing while together with music playback. I got money back last week and bought another tracker with music (from Garmin). Very happy so far. Having also loads of isssui with Fitbit flyer - currently on third service iteration...

This is my third FB and my most disappointing one. The HR is worse than useless unless you sit on the couch all day and my GPS stopped working a week ago. FBs only advice is factory reset. Complete joke. I purchased what was billed as a Smart watch/ Fitness Tracker and got nothing more than a watch.
It's time FB acknowledged they have came up short here and start offering genuine alternatives to it's users. It is evident the Ionic is not fit for purpose.

Carl, I realised very quickly that the Ionic was a joke as far as reliability was concerned so I took it back to the re-seller that sold it to me and demanded my money bak in full. The shop has since removed that line from their shelves.

Frist, i was happy to hear the Ionic worked with android devices but it turns out it's not compatible with my zte phone or samsung galaxy E tablet "Yea me" well i am on my second Ionic still not happy. The 1st was a total lemon lasted less than a month before the screen went out. The 2nd is starting to give issues after a few weeks of usage. When i got the 2nd watch i didn't add any apps hoping that i would lowwer my chance of running into issues. I am still getting random step add from time to time, syncing is a hit or miss function, and sleep tracking is not always registered because you have to sleep of 3 1/2 or 4 hours straight before you get a break down of your sleep cycle. below is my answers to the questions you had:
1. It is light i forget i have it on sometimes.
2. The size is great able to see notification well.
3. I haven't been able to get personal music to sync yet have to make playlist and blah blah blah "more work than and want to put into a device that i may have to reset and loss data".
4. Battery life is not so good if you turn on all the bells and whistles like i like to do i get maybe 2days.
5. I am happy with the brightness of the screen.
6. I think the reason i dont get messages and only notifications has to do with my phone not being compatible.
7. As far a accuracy i have gotten random steps add while driving, sitting, and sleeping about 4 or 5 times

Give em hell! By trying to be all things to all people, they have become nothing to everyone

I’m probably going to get banned. This made me go back and check my email and I’m pretty sure I was never given a refund for the first unit that was shipped dead. I forgot to include the charger cable when I sent it back, and then my kiddo lost it. Apparently that means I lost my $300. It was a year ago and I’m moving to England in 3 weeks so I doubt I’m going to find it. That’s one expensive cord.

What's the big deal? If you don't like it, return the product and move on with your life.
Mine has worked as advertised...and I'm happy with it.

I’m happy for you. I returned mine and never got a refund. I also have a second unit that I hoped after 6 months would get the kinks worked out and be a good product but it isn’t and now it’s too late to return. I never said it was a big deal but it’s disappointing from a company I previously really liked. Their customer service has been terrible on top of the failure of their product.

In reply to the subject of this thread, "What do you Think of your Ionic so Far?", I am still loving it! There have been times of frustration with it, such as when it crashed while tracking exercises, and such as when it had difficulty syncing, but those problems were fixed with both firmware and Android app updates. I have had the Ionic since it was first released, and it is still functioning very well.

In a nutshell...regretful. I wish I would have learned after my Surge fell apart...

I have had the ionic since early November and I have never parted with it!
I manage to keep a 7 battery life with manual screen on (got 5 days with auto) and call/sms notifications turned on.
I exercise between 3 and 5 times a week for about 1.5 hours each time split mostly on the treadmill and doing weight lifting/cross fit type of activities. The HRM is pretty accurate most of the times and the best part is that I have come to understand how much effort I make while exercising even when the HRM is off (yes sometimes it gets stuck at some abnormal reading which fixes itself after some time). With my resting heart rate I have had no problem whatsoever. Similarly when doing light exercise like walking. I have been using the GPS when I run outdoors and it is very accurate (I always carry my phone so I can cross-check).
Overall very happy.

Been using my Ionic since I bought it in March. Had some issues at the beginning. Worked them out. Now in the last week all of a sudden my battery started dying in less than 3 hours. It also stopped tracking steps and heart rate. QA is lacking.....
