I bought my husband a ionic and he is finding that he can’t sync properly from time to time, I then find out Fitbit does not support all the phone even it is using world standard android OS , will Fitbit update the firmware and support one plus 5 T ?

Given there are several OnePlus models before the 5T still not officially supported, it could be a long wait but only Fitbit knows and they don’t share that sort of info.
As an aside, although Android is the best selling OS worldwide, it is by no means standard, with many different variations. Because it is open source manufacturers are free to tweak it as they see fit for their phones, adding all sorts of overlays and apps to the base code. Also updates aren’t applied universally, bringing other problems. With many manufacturers and even more phone models, that’s a lot of variations. In summary, although your phone may be Android that’s not a “it should work” guarantee.

OnePlus 5T working for me with the Ionic with no issues. What issues are you having? I don't take much notice of the list of supported devices. They obviously don't have the resource to keep up. The OnePlus runs Oxygen OS, which is a variant of 'pure' Android.

The ionic and the phone have problem syncing, it can sync some of the times at the beginning but recently it cannot sync any more.

Hi. My 5T is running the Oreo public beta, that might make a difference?
A couple of things from experience with mine:
- Have you got anything else syncing with the Ionic that might be causing a conflict? Tech support suggested this, I'd done the setup process on an Apple iPhone as it seemed more reliable and had left the Fitbit app running and syncing on both. When I removed the app from the iPhone syncing was instantly 100% on the Android.
- Something OnePlus suggested was to clear the Bluetooth data and cache on the phone. This doesn't alter your Bluetooth pairings. It's in Settings/Apps/Application List click the three dots top right of the screen, then show system apps. Find Bluetooth in the list, Storage and you can clear data and cache from here.

I can confirm that this worked seamlessly for me. Clearing the Bluetooth cache brought the All-Day sync functionality back on my OP 5T with the Ionic

I'm now on the OnePlus 6 and the connection to my Ionic hasn't missed a beat. Very reliable, latest update installed with no issues so v. pleased.
