I have had the Fitbit ionic for years and I've never had this problem last night I took it off to charge it with the same charger cord in the same spot I've been charging it in 4 years. This morning when I woke up my steps had not reset from the night before. I deleted the app and reinstalled it and that didn't solve the problem. I deleted the ionic and reset it completely and that did not solve the problem either I'm still showing my steps from the previous day.

I don't think it's possible to fix the wrong data but a restart of your fitbit should prevent the issue from happening again tonight. The restart instructions are in: Help article: How do I restart my tracker?

Is it dead as in showing no signs of life or is it just not working? After a factory reset it won't do anything until it has been through the setup process again.
