I would expect to see something new come with an update in the near future. 

Right around Charge 3s launch.

enhancements?????, ive not seen any enhancements in any of the updates, just things moved around, different swipes to get to different stats, nothing thats enhanced the watch at all. A nice enhancement would be an activity heart rate alarm , a good idea for a fitness tracker, but not even seen this with a year of collecting 4500 votes in the suggestions pages.

After an excellent update to Fitibit OS 2 I have the feeling that we are moving towards a Fitbit OS 3 soon.

This post gives me good hopes about a release soon.

One of the big enhancement I really hope to see is the utilization of the famous SpO2 sensor

Usually Fitbit doesn't announce firmware updates, but you can check to see if one is available in your "Account Settings".
