I used to be able to upload music from my mac to my ionic. Now when I try and do that I go from 'transfer music' to 'Use your computer to start transferring music. End Now' and that's all it will do. What am I doing wrong?

For goodness sake this is ridiculous! Ionic is plugged into my mac yet my fitbit connect cant see the fitbit, but does manage to delete music from the fitbit, and wont add it. The whole lot is going out the window any minute now! HELP! aarrgghhh.

Haha! Sounds so familiar if you read my posts. But here see if this helps. Chk to make sure both the Ionic and Mac are strongly connected on the same WIFI signal. Then let the Mac find your Ionic. It may take 5 minutes or so. Sometimes doing an Ionic restart helps as well as Mac restart.
So -> “What am I doing wrong?”
Hmm? So far that looks right.
1 Next on your Mac you would put an “X” in the circle of the playlist you want transferred.
2 Then wait until the Mac “initializes the WIFI transfer” after deciding where it will be stored on the Ionic drive -> and how long it will take.
3 Next your Ionic will show “Transfer in progress...” -> and the Mac will move the spinning ball to the playlist and transfer it.
4 Note -> “You may need to wait up to 20+ min before the transfer even starts” depending how much music is in the playlists. Once it does the ETA will appear and purple will very very slowly fill the progress bar on the Mac Connect.
5 Is very important to just let the Mac transfer happen and not make any playlist changes. If you do the playlist transfers may have errors. My Ionic holds about 18 hrs of music.
Try this. You can also chk the Fitbit Music link help suggestions or call Tech Support. But key is to wait until the Mac first initializes. Most will not -> so nothing will ever transfer. This in my experience causes so many failed attempts and so much crazy frustration and complaints. Many never get any music transferred. Fitbit knows my concerns.
But if you did it before -> it should transfer again. I have noted this painfully clunky slow transfer process many times before. But it is what it is. You do get music eventually if you persist and are very determined. Once you do -> enjoy.

Thank you! My first problem is that I cant figure out where the wifi settings are on dashboard or the ionic. Its plugged into the mac so you'd think the mac would know it was there?! Bluetooth is on too but thats no help. So I cant go further with your very helpful instructions until there is the wifi option displayed somewhere!
OK, I have my wifi on the fitbit phone app so assume its on the ionic itself....
Watch this space and I'll report back....
thank you 🙂

No, my wifi disappeared again from ionic.
Thanks for your help. I'm going to bang my head against a wall and come back to this tomorrow!

Hmm? No WIFI on the Ionic. Yeah that will make things very difficult indeed.
If on your Ionic mobile app you can get your Ionic to sync up to Fitbit -> your WIFI is ok. You can chk your “WIFI settings” as well to confirm it is still there.
If your WIFI shows up it should work -> but have disconnected and re-connected this before as an extra troubleshooting step.
If your iTunes playlists show up that is key to everything working. If not then nothing will transfer. So would focus on that. If they do show up then it is just a matter of getting your WIFI to initialize. You cannot dilly dally as the WIFI apparently times out. I watch my router to see how much packet activity is happening. Before the Mac initializes it is very few -> but once it starts packets go like crazy. But still takes like 3 hrs for a wimpy 2.3 GB.
Actually contacted Tech Support before and was explaining no WIFI -> and at that very moment the Mac started transferring. It took 20+ minutes before it did anything. That day spent like 12 hrs to get it to transfer because there were song errors in multiple sync attempts. So can appreciate your frustration. Took me 12 hrs for 2.3 GB!
Which is completely crazy considering it takes 5-10 min for a drag and drop to a micro SD -> or cable connection to a Pixel or Apple device.

Its a completely ludicrous situation, but I tried again today on a mac and a pc and finally, when I switched bluetooth back on - after the instructions say to keep it off - I suddenly got wifi and 42 tracks transferred in less than 10 minutes. I've no idea if that will ever happen again, its very ad hoc, to say the least. Thanks for your time @Whistler888

Yep. At least you have something again. My bluetooth stays on. It is hit and miss. Was in the same hesitant position to ever transfer again. But wanted to fill the storage with plenty of music -> so not to do this again anytime soon. So spent the time and effort to get it done. Glad you got it to transfer in the end.
