When my ionic has been inactive I get a number screen when I try to access features. It requires a 4 digit code. I don't remember accepting the feature but it does accept my normal 4 digit code.  I want to delete the requirement to enter a code. It is very inconvenient when I'm riding a bike or in low light conditions.

You can disable the Device Lock feature as long as you are not using Fitbit Pay. Here's an extract from the help files that explains where the setting is:
