ionic - music control - volume buttons

Hey guys, i just got my Ionic and to my BIG disappointment the music control player had changed from the Blace. There you could just hold down the top right button, and then you could control the volume with the two buttons. I work as a fitness instructor, and for me it has been superb to being able to control the music on my phone (connected to the speakers in the gym) while running around instructing. On the ionic i now have to push the top button, then i have to touch the small buttons on the top left screen and then i can control the volume (and operation not easy to do when jumping and instructing).

Is there any way to get the old player back? Or maybe lock the screen when in the mode where i can control the volume? It changes back to powersaving mode very quick....

This being a smartclock, maybe there are other music players i can download?

Any suggestions on how to solve this "problem" would be greatly appreciated.

Hey there @Yon, it's great to see you around! I'm afraid to say that there's no way to control the volume on your Ionic on the same way you used to with your Blaze.

We're constantly striving to improve Fitbit products and services, and we very much appreciate all of the input we receive from our customers. The best place to make your voice heard is the our Feature Suggestion board on our community, which our product development teams consult regularly to ensure we're delivering on what our customers need and want. However, keep in mind that you can have multiple Fitbits linked to your account. If the Blaze works better for you during your classes, you can always switch trackers.

Why would I want multiple trackers. ONE should do the job. If I had known that I would have lost the volume buttons on the ionic I would never have bought it I loved my blaze. I don’t have the heart to take it back from 80 year old mother.

I have blaze and now ionic. Can figure how to adjust volume. Also reading forum - is it true I can play music on my blaze ?  I can’t get my blaze to sync with my Apple phone so got ionic for music too.

The amazingly advanced Fitbit ionic with all these amazing features leaves out so many obviously convenient and simple features it's a joke.

You can't adjust volume on a Fitbit with music playing capability?

Good job fitbit, I will never buy another fitbit product.

Everytime I turn around I realize it's missing another simple feature.

Volume control need to be added fast.

What at a joke!

Can you not control the volume with your Bluetooth headphones, my £20 Anker ones do easily enough.

Edited:

not sure if this would still control your speakers though Smiley Frustrated

How do you control volume with it?

You have to hold the left button and swipe the screen which is a CLUSTER F$$K. This has to be a common feature that people use that REALLY needs to be streamlined!!

How is this an accepted solution?  It doesn’t solve the problem.

I would also like to me to see some version of the blaze-like  pass-through-from-phone music player for the ionic.

While the onboard music player is nice in concept, the Bluetooth signal is too weak and cuts out consistently with any of about 6 different high end wireless earbuds I have tried.  I think part of the problem is that most earbud use the right earbud as the master and left as the slave while most people wear their watch in the left. Switching wrists helped  some but not enough.  My phone signal just seems much stronger and so I’d like to get the blaze style music controls back.  Surely that can be done as an app, right?

why did you change the function of the left button? I could easily acces the music feature, which for me is crucial in my routine as a trainer, controlling the studio's music from the ionic. the one function that made me forget about you still not adding a 'find my phone'-feature on the Ionic.
now you've got me stuck with a useless wallet function on the left button. MY BANK DOESN'T SUPPORT THAT. give us the options to assign what we need to the left button. or if it's already possible, give instructions on how to please.
THIS IS SUCH A DEALBREAKER. newer can, as it turns out, can be much worse.
