Me too.  And I had to do a factory reset last night!  Did they not test this software in real life?

+1 from me- neither my phone(s) nor laptop can connect to it even though Bluetooth will pair ok and the device is visible (part of me wanted to type risible there).

At least the watch (mostly) works and when it does I really like it. It'd be great if someone/anyone from FitBit could give an update on what's going on? If the lack of connection is down to the last firmware update then it'll be interesting to see how they can fix it without recalling the device. I'm starting to wonder if this is 'fit for purpose' (no pun intended)

Ive just performed a factory reset and its back working. However i know need to sync music etc, which is another 1 hour or so. Not a good start to a new product. I rarely had problems with my Blaze.

I had a similar issue.  On day 3 when there was a firmware update available, the Fitbit app on my iPhone wouldn't connect to my Ionic.  It was "connected" in that I was still receiving notifications but the app was not able to find the Ionic to sync or do anything else.  Unlike what it looks like others did, I did not have to do a factory reset to fix it though.  After trying a number of things unsuccessfully, I found that removing the device from the app and adding it back did the trick.  Once it reconnected, it updated its firmware and is working again.

Got my watch yeterday, started it up, all went well. But now it says it can't connect to Ionic. Tried restart watch, restart Phone, nothing helps. It's now stuck on a errormessage on the screen of my watch: clock-error. Very disappointed: this brand produces software that just doens't do the job. Syncing is a mail problem: all day I had this trouble, but by now I can't get it in function anymore. Quite pissed.

After some problems to start with, mine is working perfect now. No problem with sync, got music on the watch via FitBit Connect on my Mac - just have to make sure that the Watch only is connected to one gadget (cant work on both iPhone and iPad at the same time)

I’m not sure what you mean by disconnect device from the app.

@Rshaw48 in your app go to account and select ionic. At the top of the page is a small rubbish bin. Tap that to remove the ionic from your account, then restart your phone and set the ionic up again as a new device.

Hi Rshaw48, thanks for your advice: it worked. However, only once. The weather app didn't sync at all. Syncing with Ionic in my experience is quite troublesome: sometimes it works, sometimes it doens't. Sometimes it syncs on a mobile that is not fully compatible, sometimes it doens't. And the same is true for a tablet that should be fully compatible. Awaiting the firmware to come, hopefully that solves a lot.

Ok. I did that. I even trashed the app and reloaded it from the Apple App store. I then ran the setup. It said it found the Ionic, but then got caught in an endless loop “connecting to tracker”. I let it go on for several hours and yes I did have the watch plugged into a charger.

Any other ideas?
Thank you for your help.

Customer Service told me to do a hard restart on the watch by holding down the left button and the bottom right button until the fitbit logo appeared.  Once the watch was all the way back up - less han 30 seconds- then i reopened the fitbit app on my iphone 7 and restarted the account install for the ionic.  Worked like a charm!

I had the same problem. So annoying! But I went on my computer and reloaded the whole thing there. Then I went on my phone and got rid of the app before reloading that. It worked, but then I couldn't figure out how to pair it with my phone. That step takes place in the app, not the phone, btw.

Anyway, it's all good now. Everything seems to be working.

Customer service walked me through a hard restart of the watch. Hold down the right button and the bottom left button and hold until the fitbit logo appears on the watch screen. Let go of the buttons and the watch will restart. Once it is fully back up, about 30 seconds, you can go to the app and reattach to the account.

I too was confused in the beginning, but after I read the whole instruction, I had no problem, and mine has been working like a STAR since then. I really enjoy it.

I think it's an issue with the updated mobile app.  I had sync issues prior, but was able to get around them.  After the recent app update, I'm constantly faced with the error as I'm sure many others are.

It's unacceptable as it will impact getting ones data uploaded to the server in a timely fashion.

Edit - perhaps it's an issue with the firmware.  My desktop app isn't syncing either and that was usually foolproof. 😞
