will fitbit ionic capture an erg or rowing workout, older fitbits do not?

the fitbit ionic would be perfect for rowers to capture workouts since it is waterproof, but other fitbit models do not seem to capture erg workouts or on water workouts.  Could the marketing team make sure this is certified for that.  thank you. I am considering purchasing one, but only if it works with rowing workouts.

its on other fitness watches (wish I had bought one of them instead)
