Long time smart band user, decided to get my first Fitbit for the quality and accuracy of your sensors, chose the Luxe as it resembles the minimalism of other bands such as from Xiaomi.
I was surprised to see a lack of settings options, for instance being able to disable features I might not want such as blood oxygen metrics or sleep tracking, being able to customize the heart rate reading intervals etc. with the intent of maximizing battery life. And speaking of the app itself, how come there's no dark mode after it has been suggested for years? this is not just cosmetic but rather important for phones with AMOLED screens.
Another simple missing feature is an option to automatically wake the screen for notifications, not doing so doesn't save battery life since you will most likely raise your wrist to look at the notification anyway, it would save the second I have to wait for the screen to wake after the wrist movement, and possibly save the movement itself if my wrist is already on a visible position, such as while I'm using a computer keyboard.
There is also a lack of watchface modularity, you can't even upload your own background image, the hardware seems more than capable of supporting this feature. In particular, weather, it is such a simple and widespread feature that I cannot begin to imagine why the Luxe does not support the weather app, current temperature and a dynamic cloud icon indicating the weather would be a great addition to any watchface.
I understand that the Luxe is probably not among your most popular products, and therefore receives less attention from the development team, but I would say it is in the best interest of the Fitbit brand to give equal attention to all of their devices, in order to uphold their image of being the most complete choice in the market regardless of what you choose to buy. Most of the budget options I have used or seen reviews offer the features listed above even among their cheapest devices, so it was rather disappointing to discover the Luxe does not, premium price naturally comes with expectations.
