I have noticed on my new Luxe that the distance tracking on my runs is way off. On a confirmed 5 mile course I get a distance reading of 6.67 miles. I'm 70 years old so my stride is much shorter than it was at 40. Any ideas on how to get a more accurate distance on a run. I bought the Fitbit to track distances on new runs.

Nobody can tell anything about your distance accuracy without knowing how you are tracking distance, connected to phone's GPS or not? 2 totally different ways of getting distance.

Are you taking your phone with you on runs?
Luxe does not have built-in GPS. Either you take phone with you on runs, make sure Luxe is connected to phone's GPS (connected-GPS) so Luxe is piggy-backing on phone's GPS.
Alternatively if not connecting to phone's GPS, Luxe takes step count and multiplies that times your stride length to get distance.

No. I run at least five miles and the phone is too bulky to carry.

So in that case it is taking your step count and multiplying that times your stride length. Fitbit sets a default stride length based on height and other factors that is usually fairly close but you can change that for you own individual case, but you cannot depend on it being precise like a good GPS.
On phone app, tap days of exercise tile, then gear icon near top right, then Stride Length is at the top. Undo 'Set automatically' and you can set Walking and Running stride lengths separately. If you know your course is 5 miles and you are getting 6.67 miles, you could just reduce your running stride length by 5 divided by 6.67, or almost exactly 3/4. And then you can make small adjustments if it doesn't come out quite right. But realize then, if you run a different course with more or fewer hills so your stride length is different, your distance measured will not be exact.
I forget the exact setup, but if you did do something about saying you were going to use GPS, undo that because that would only apply if you were taking your phone and connecting to phone's GPS.
Some of the other slightly more expensive Fitbit models do have GPS built in. If that is important to you, you might want to consider returning your and getting a different model.
