Ellipse vs fitbit

I have an ellipse and the steps don’t match my Fitbit. Today, I went 5000 steps on my ellipse today and the Fitbit show I want 3130 steps. How can I get a more accurate count? I wear my Fitbit around my ankle when I use the Ellipse as I was instructed by the company who makes the stepper.   Can anyone help me?

Hello @Barlene38 and welcome to the Community.  Are you asking about this step machine?  Here are my thoughts.  Fitbits measure steps using a sensor that measures motion in three directions.  These "steps" are very small and might not have the right data to count as a step.  You can try wearing it differently.  Try putting the sensor over a different part of your ankle.  You might not get an accurate count, no matter what you do.  Sometimes my Fitbit doesn't count steps when I have it on my wrist and take small steps.
