Exercise mode vs steps question

I have a Luxe and either walk or use a treadmill every day sometimes more than once. Is there a difference between using exercise mode and just letting it count my steps and calories burned?

Hi @operty. Welcome to the community forums.

Thank you for sharing the query regarding your Luxe.

When the Fitbit tracks your exercices it gives you more information rather than when you just let the device count your steps or calories. The exercise modes are specifically designed to track the most out of each type of activity and the algorithms have been fine tuned to get more accurate data for each different exercise so that's the reason why there is a category for each.

When you use your Fitbit in exercise mode while walking, you can see information such as: calories burned, time elapsed, heart rate, steps taken, distance traveled. You can check your stats by tapping the screen during your workout. You can also customize the stats you see on the screen on some Fitbit devices. To see more information: How do I track my workouts with my Fitbit device?
