I am ready to give up. My Fitbit has really been helping me recover from cancer, but now it is recording the same number of steps every day and I can’t figure out how to update it. I do it it says and put the charging unit right next to my iPad and go through the screens for charging, but nothing happens except it has a screen that says “searching“.
is it hopeless and I should get another fitness tracker or is there someway to fix this?

Before considering other options, I'd ask you please confirm that you are using the latest version of the Fitbit app. See How do I use the Fitbit app?
